Frequently asked questions
What do the star ratings mean?
Aging Ready (75–100): Excellent features for long-term independent living with minimal modifications needed.
Adaptable (50–74): Good foundation with some modifications required for optimal aging readiness.
Limited Long-Term Fit (0–49): Significant barriers to aging in place. Major renovations would be required.
Can I edit a completed screening?

Yes! Go to the property details page and click "Edit Screening" to review and modify any answers. The score recalculates automatically.

How does the scoring system work?

The Independent Living Score™ evaluates properties across multiple categories, with critical safety features weighted more heavily than aesthetic preferences. The final score is normalized to a 0–100 scale for easy comparison.

How do I compare multiple properties?

Go to any completed property's detail page and click "Add to compare". You can add up to 3 properties, then visit the Compare page from the navigation bar to see them side by side.

Can I export my data?

Yes! Go to your Profile page and scroll to the Export Data section. You can download your properties, screenings, and portfolios as CSV files that open in Excel or Google Sheets.

What happens if I close my browser during a screening?

Your progress is automatically saved as you answer questions. You can close your browser and return later to pick up exactly where you left off.

Can the same property be in multiple portfolios?

Yes! A property can belong to multiple portfolios. This is useful when showing the same property to different clients or comparing it in different contexts.

PDF report won't download

Try a different browser: Chrome and Safari work best for PDF generation.

Check your downloads folder: The file may have downloaded without a prompt.

Mobile: Reports work best on desktop or laptop.

Score calculation seems wrong

The Independent Living Score™ uses a weighted calculation system where critical safety features impact the score more than aesthetic preferences.

If score seems too low: Check that you've answered all questions. Missing answers can significantly lower the score.

Changes won't save

Solution 1: Check your internet connection. Changes require an active connection to save.

Solution 2: Try refreshing the page and attempting the action again.

Solution 3: Log out completely, close your browser, then log back in.

Mobile app won't install on iPhone

Common mistake: You must use Safari on iOS — Chrome and Firefox won't work for app installation.

Finding the share button: Look at the bottom toolbar, second icon from the left (square with arrow pointing up).

If share button is missing: Tap the address bar or white space to make the toolbar visible.

Screening progress disappeared

Your screening progress auto-saves as you answer questions. If it appears lost:

Step 1: Go back to the property detail page and click "Edit Screening" — your previous answers should be there.

Step 2: If answers are missing, your progress may not have saved due to a connection issue.

Always ensure a stable internet connection during screenings.
